DOG SLEDDING – Three hour trips for 2

Learn to harness your dogs and steer a sled when you arrange a dog sledding trip through the Lodge. Enjoy these amazing dogs, bred to run with enthusiasm and lots of energy.
MOOSE SAFARI & WILDLIFE TOURS
$249 for 2 persons
Private three to four hour guided trip to the remote backcountry to search for Moose and learn the secrets that make this undeveloped area so special. Early morning trips include breakfast picnic along a beautiful nature spot or late after with beverages and snacks. Beer or wine can be purchased as well. Trips include canoeing a pristine pond or can be done by vehicle.

View the Moosehead region from the air. When you experience this historic transportation, you’ll take in the amazing scenery only available from above. Flight tours from 30 minutes or more.
THE ORIGINAL FLY-IN CANOE TRIP

A full day trip starts with a seaplane ride from Greenville over Mt. Katahdin, dropped in the Penobscot River, canoe to Lobster Lake. Enjoy canoeing, fishing, hiking, dip in the lake or just relax on the shore. Guide makes you a steak or lobster dinner on the shore; enjoy a wildlife trip back to the Lodge.

Catch natural brook trout, land locked salmon or small mouth bass in the Moosehead Lake area. Book our fishing guide for ½ day, full day or a fly-fishing lesson, and then head out to practice your new found skills. The Lodge Maine Guide has over 30 years experience and can customize your trip for your experience.
WHITE WATER RAFTING
$74 – $114 per person
Right here in Greenville is one of the finest rafting companies in Maine. Enjoy the Kennebeck, Penobscot or Canada Falls rivers. Rafting trips depend on water levels and your experience. Let us book a trip for you. All are full day and include lunch.
CANOE, KAYAK & POLING
Whether you canoe or kayak, you are sure to experience natural beauty, wildlife and even our grand moose on the many rivers and ponds in the area. Take a picnic along or a fishing pole. Canoes and Kayaks are available for daily rent at a nominal fee. Guides are also here to show you the special spots or teach the art of canoeing or historic poling in shallow waters.
KATAHDIN BOAT CRUISE
Take a three hour cruise on the national historic landmark – Katahdin from Greenville, Maine. The boat cruises on Tuesday through Saturday leaving at 12:30 pm. Listen to the history of the region while enjoying a relaxing cruise.
Over 40 unique hikes from easy to challenging with breathtaking views. All worth the climb. Trail descriptions available in your Lodge guest services book or hire a guide to teach you all kinds of outdoor wilderness skills or uncover the many waterfalls hidden away.
It is possible to identify over 415 species of birds in Maine. The Lodge has guide books, binoculars and is in close proximity to the Borestone Mountain Audubon Sanctuary. Expert Maine bird guides are also available for a fee.
Hundreds of miles of ATV trails are available to you in the Moosehead Lake area including incredible scenery and open terrain. We can arrange ATV rentals and private guides to help you find that special scenic spot. $145 to $205 for ½ day and full day trips and 1 or 2 person machines are also available. Trails are typically open around Memorial day weekend.
Our Guest Services books in your room include five scenic drives to choose from. They are forty minutes to a half-day in length. These are especially beautiful in the fall but you can enjoy all year long. Order a picnic lunch to share at a special spot. You’ll want to stop for pictures.
12,000 miles of ITS trails are accessible from the Lodge. Either bring your trailer or we can arrange for half day or full day sled rentals. If you are new to the area, a guide is recommended. Clothes can also be rented.
With a minimum of six inches of snow you can venture out to explore the region. Trails are available from your concierge or book a guide to see frozen waterfalls, track and identify wildlife. Snowshoes can also be rented at the Lodge.
CROSS COUNTRY SKIING
Glide through spruce and pine forests with views of mountains, lakes, ponds and frozen waterfalls. There is over 100 miles of groomed trails and nearby Lily State Park waiting for you. Bring your skis or they can be rented. Lodge concierge will provide maps.
