Duygu is one of the Lodge’s Room Attendants. She and Songul (left) are here for the summer from Turkey practicing their English and enjoying the guests from all over the world. To their delight, they found we use Turkish towels – some of the finest cotton in the world, lots of big white fluffy towels in every room.
Tables are readied for guest breakfast on the deck by Songul. It’s a beautiful summer morning at the Lodge at Moosehead Lake and guests love to eat outside. These young ladies have been able to learn about the Moosehead Lake area. They have taken a white water rafting trip, Moose Safari, Katahdin Cruise, state fair, enjoyed the beach and much more. Both plan to be English teachers in their homeland.

The loon room on the first floor of the lodge is getting a refresh. Each lodge room is themed to reflect the uniqueness of the north woods of Maine in true luxury. This room centers around the beauty of the loons and others birds you will find here. We have started with the bathroom. A new vanity has been designed with natural black slate counter top and rustic wood, natural birch inlays and unique black baskets filled with soft luxurious towels. We kept the hand carved mirror that matches the popular poster bed. New shower curtains were created to reflect the black and white of the loon and will be carried out in the updating in the bedroom to come. So watch for more changes or just come visit us in Greenville, Maine, the gateway to the North woods.

 Guests for President’s Day weekend were warmly greeted at breakfast with fresh melons covered with a lime & rum sauce, fresh made cinnamon rolls and this Frittata including Maine potatoes, red onions and feta cheese. Dennis topped it off with fresh made bruschetta. Great breakfast to start their day snowmobiling, dog sledding and ice fishing.

This season, we have changed the Lodge dining schedule. We serve dinner only in the Lakeview Dining Room to our lodging guests and we accept a limited number of reservations from the public. This has allowed us to focus on providing a premium dining experience. The menu is Ala Carte and focuses on Up North Cuisine, casual, warm and comfortable, like the Lodge itself. When weather permits, we also serve on the deck under the stars. Chloe’s Pub is not open to the public but remains available to lodging guests along with the newly constructed fire pit. Around the fire pit, guests can order a “Smores” kit, enjoy an outdoor wood fire and watch the stars dazzle against a black sky.

The Plein Art Artist Painting and Exhibit was a great success. They created many new pieces that were put on display and can be seen on their websites. Several of the Moosehead Lake pieces will be on display in the Lakeview Dining Room of the lodge. If you are staying with us or dine here, you can enjoy or even purchase for your very own.

 Guests enjoy the cracking fire overlooking Moosehead Lake from the great expansive yard at the Lodge at Moosehead Lake. This is becoming a regular on cool Maine evenings and a great way to meet other guests, talk about the day and share experiences.
