This special four hour trip during September and early October starts with a walking trail to the pond where a canoe has been stored for your ride. Our own Registered Maine guide will provide area stories and wildlife knowledge. Paddle through the quiet beauty listening to the water drop from your paddle and loons call through the air. It is a respite you’ll long remember. Call the lodge 207-695-4400 to reserve your trip with a lodging stay. Dining Schedule at the Lodge at Moosehead LakeMonday, August 30th, 2010This season, we have changed the Lodge dining schedule. We serve dinner only in the Lakeview Dining Room to our lodging guests and we accept a limited number of reservations from the public. This has allowed us to focus on providing a premium dining experience. The menu is Ala Carte and focuses on Up North Cuisine, casual, warm and comfortable, like the Lodge itself. When weather permits, we also serve on the deck under the Window Boxes Adorn Lodge at Moosehead LakeSaturday, August 14th, 2010Trail Angels stay at the Lodge at Moosehead LakeFriday, August 13th, 2010Mother, son, daughter, daughter-in-law and grand daughter all stayed at the lodge to celebrate the completion of the Appalachian trail by the grandson. They are all avid hikers and wanted to experience what their grandson was experiencing as he finished this momentous goal at Katahdin. In the process they came across other hikers as well. A couple of young men had very bad equipment including broken hiking sticks. This group, replaced their polls and they were off for more adventure. The next day, they came across a hiker that was very sick. They took him to the local hospital to find out he had pneumonia. They got him antibiotics and a hotel room for the night. This group was truly Trail Angels and I’m sure angels no matter where they go. We welcome them back to Moosehead any time. .
