Yesterday, almost 10″ of snow came to the Lodge at Moosehead Lake. Here is our view this morning from the Lodge. Are you thinking about your winter getaway? New Fire pit Completed at Lodge at Moosehead Lake

Moosehead Lake From Seaplane Ride

Moosehead Lake from a visitors seaplane ride looks like the head of a Moose. Can you see it? This picture was taken last week as a guest took a ride with Jack’s Air Service, right here in Greenville, Maine. The lake is 20 miles by 40 miles and is the largest instate lake east of the Mississippi River. Taking a seaplane ride is one of two very popular activities for vacationers. The other activity is of course a Moose Safari. Moose can also be spotted from the air, with a keen eye.

This morning a snowmobile is pulling their ice house off of Moosehead Lake. With temperatures in the 30s and 40s in the next week, It is time to move ice houses off the lake. This picture was taken from the Lodge.
Valentine’s Day Dinner

It was a full house for dinner at the Lodge at Moosehead Lake. Guests were treated to a 5-course dinner prepared by Chef Jack. Featured were our famous Maine Peekytoe Crab Cakes and our very own Moosehead Lake Lobster Bake including grilled Maine Lobster with Rope Grown Mussels in a Creamy Corn Fumet over Mac & Cheese. And of course, there was chocolate! It was a beautiful way to celebrate the love of your life, just be sure your table is reserved early for 2010. Lodging guests came back to their rooms to find, hand dipped chocolate strawberries before retiring for the evening.
