Two travel writers from “Alright, I’m Wrong” spent a day and evening at the Lodge this week. They were from the southern Maine, Portsmouth, NH area. Here is their review of the Lodge at Moosehead Lake. We couldn’t of asked for more, except maybe let us know they were going to take “our” picture, too. Enjoy the article.

Lodge at Moosehead Lake Travel Review
Monday, July 13th, 2009Moosehead Lake From Seaplane Ride
Friday, July 10th, 2009Moosehead Lake from a visitors seaplane ride looks like the head of a Moose. Can you see it? This picture was taken last week as a guest took a ride with Jack’s Air Service, right here in Greenville, Maine. The lake is 20 miles by 40 miles and is the largest instate lake east of the Mississippi River. Taking a seaplane ride is one of two very popular activities for vacationers. The other activity is of course a Moose Safari. Moose can also be spotted from the air, with a keen eye.

Call the Lodge to book your room and let us reserve a Moose Safari and Wildlife trip with our Registered Maine Guide. These photos were taken by Lodge guests.

Ice Fishing on Moosehead
Monday, March 24th, 2008Ice fishing can be fast and furious on Moosehead Lake. It was a great year for Trout. Ice houses were set up in January and will be off by the end of March. The Lodge’s quick access to the lake by snowmobile makes it easy to experiment with this unique Maine sport and still enjoy the luxuries of the Lodge.
