Young eagles had just flown away leaving this parent to watch below. Eagles are often spotted at Moosehead Lake – a wondorous site for sure.
Two travel writers from “Alright, I’m Wrong” spent a day and evening at the Lodge this week. They were from the southern Maine, Portsmouth, NH area. Moosehead Lake from a visitors seaplane ride looks like the head of a Moose. Can you see it? This picture was taken last week as a guest took a ride with Jack’s Air Service, right here in Greenville, Maine. The lake is 20 miles by 40 miles and is the largest instate lake east of the Mississippi River. Taking a seaplane ride is one of two very popular activities for vacationers. The other activity is of course a Moose Safari. Moose can also be spotted from the air, with a keen eye.
New snow at the Lodge as of 8:00 am this morning. About 20 inches on the ground now.
It’s now noon and we are still digging out only to learn more coming this afternoon. We have guests to leave and guests coming in tomorrow. What a winter wonderland in Maine.
