Viewing Moose is the primary reason tourists come to the Moosehead area. We often think that Moose viewing is good in the spring through fall, but look moose in winter, too. Whether you are snowmobiling, snowshoeing or skiing across the beautiful North woods – look out for moose. You may just have a pleasant surprise. Yesterday, almost 10″ of snow came to the Lodge at Moosehead Lake. Here is our view this morning from the Lodge. Are you thinking about your winter getaway? Look for the new winter suppers the Lodge will be offering. Have a wonderful day relaxing in the great outdoors and then enjoy a cozy winter evening in Chloe’s Pub with suppers featuring Up North Cuisine.
Ruth, Alain and Leon from Switzerland spent several days at the lodge this summer. They sent us this picture today. “From all our wonderful places we saw during our trip through your country Moosehead Lake is one of our favourite thanks to your hospitality”. emailed Ruth. We were so happy to have them and hope they will try our winter fun next time.
Young eagles had just flown away leaving this parent to watch below. Eagles are often spotted at Moosehead Lake – a wondorous site for sure.
