Lodge guests enjoyed breakfast on the patio overlooking this view this morning.  It was in the 70s with bright blue sky.  A full breakfast bar featuring fresh fruit, juices, cereal and fresh made banana bread started their meal with a bacon, broccoli and cheese frittata to get them on their way to a fun filled day of moose watching, hiking, rafting and so much more.

The Lodge continues to do improvements to provide first class accommodations to our guests.  Currently we are rebuilding the front porch with new decking (made from recycled milk cartons) and  in keeping with the 1917 Cape Cod styling representative of the Lodge at Moosehead Lake. This will be completed in the next few days, in good time for you to enjoy.

Maine is the beating heart of traditional rural America. It`s a land of tranquil fishing villages, white wooden church steeples and all-American clapboard houses, a region where colonial Inns serve up an abundance of delicious wholesome foods such as succulent blueberry pie, waffles with maple syrup and fresh shellfish and lobster.

The rugged wilderness of Northern Maine, the highlands and Aristook county appeal to anyone seeking a holiday with a real get-away-from-it-all feel. The passing seasons make this area a year-round delight, with nature painting its vivid colours across the landscape. In late summer, the Presque Isle area sees the enchanting Balloon Fest event, in which colourful hot-air balloons are released into the night skies, while at the annual Paint the Lupine festival in Oakfield, visitors are encouraged to get creative with their sketch books and paintbrushes. Northern Maine is host to a full annual cultural calendar with many other local events attracting the crowds, including arts and craft fairs, parades and heritage days.

The lodge has an over 500 VHS and DVD movie library.  Recently added was the award winning Julie and Julia with Meryl Streep.  This is a fun movie to watch in the comfort of your room.  Every room at the lodge has their own VHS/DVD players.
