 New Fire pit Completed at Lodge at Moosehead LakeThursday, October 15th, 2009 Directly out the lodge pub, overlooking the lodge view of Moosehead Lake and surrounding mountains, a new fire pit was completed. The Lodge hosted a Labor Day picnic for guests . According to Ron & Shirley, from Newfield, ME “As for the picnic, games were a good touch and much appreciated; food was excellent; and the setting was superb.Thanks for a memorable experience.” The menu included all you can eat buffalo burgers, bbq baby back ribs, salads and the Ultimate Brownie – not to mention our home-brewed Pineapple Margaritas.

Moose Weathervane on Carriage House at Lodge at Moosehead LakeFriday, August 7th, 2009 Found in the basement of the carriage house was the copper moose without his antlers. Dennis welded the antlers, polished him up and fixed the base. Now it is back where it belongs, looking out over Moosehead Lake and directing you to the sunset and wonders of the north woods.

Flowers include peonies, oriental lilies, sedum, callilepis, daisy, Russian comfrey, delphinium, iris, foxglove, globe thistle, cornflower, aster, lupine and many others. Moosehead Lake From Seaplane RideFriday, July 10th, 2009 Moosehead Lake from a visitors seaplane ride looks like the head of a Moose. Can you see it? This picture was taken last week as a guest took a ride with Jack’s Air Service, right here in Greenville, Maine. The lake is 20 miles by 40 miles and is the largest instate lake east of the Mississippi River. Taking a seaplane ride is one of two very popular activities for vacationers. The other activity is of course a Moose Safari. Moose can also be spotted from the air, with a keen eye. Lodge at Moosehead Lake Opens for Dinner ServiceSaturday, June 20th, 2009 The Lodge opened for dinner service last night and is now open Friday, Saturday and Sunday through Columbus Day weekend in mid-October. Chef Abby Freethy kicks off the season with her Maine Lobster, Parsnip and Asparagus Dumplings, Grilled Filet of Beef, Crayfish & Spinach Stuffed Native Trout and many other Up North specialties.
