Moose Bath Room Upgrade

Just completed – the Moose bathroom upgrade. A new vanity was built using rustic wood with inlaid birch and New England red slate counter top. A compact refrigerator has also been built in for our guests’ convenience. The larger counter gives us room to add a new K-cup coffee maker as well. Similar upgrades are being completed in the Bear room. Soon, most of our rooms will have these new amenities.

Refurbished Guest Pantry at the Lodge at Moosehead Lake

We tackled refurbishing the Guest Pantry to improve the look and functionality for our guests just in time for the New Year’s Eve weekend. We found 3 layers of flooring that was removed and replaced with ceramic tile, added a smaller refrigerator, small sink with instant hot water for teas and hot chocolate and built in trash receptacle below the sink. The counter top was also replaced with New England Red slate. With all our remodeling projects, we aim to maintain the original feel of the lodge and we think we have. Now we have much more usable space for snacks and beverages available anytime.

Lodge at Moosehead Lake is Decorated for the Holidays

The lodge is all decked out for the holidays with lights trimming the eaves and fireplace mantel, Christmas stockings on the dining chairs, large poinsettias, greenery down the railing, fresh wreaths on all the dining room winters and much more. Trail Angels stay at the Lodge at Moosehead Lake

Mother, son, daughter, daughter-in-law and grand daughter all stayed at the lodge to celebrate the completion of the Appalachian trail by the grandson. They are all avid hikers and wanted to experience what their grandson was experiencing as he finished this momentous goal at Katahdin. In the process they came across other hikers as well. A couple of young men had very bad equipment including broken hiking sticks. This group, replaced their polls and they were off for more adventure. The next day, they came across a hiker that was very sick. They took him to the local hospital to find out he had pneumonia. They got him antibiotics and a hotel room for the night. This group was truly Trail Angels and I’m sure angels no matter where they go. We welcome them back to Moosehead any time.

Plein Air Art Show and Exhibit

The Plein Art Artist Painting and Exhibit was a great success. They created many new pieces that were put on display and can be seen on their websites. Several of the Moosehead Lake pieces will be on display in the Lakeview Dining Room of the lodge. If you are staying with us or dine here, you can enjoy or even purchase for your very own.

Enjoying the Fire Pit from the Inn Over the Lake

Guests enjoy the cracking fire overlooking Moosehead Lake from the great expansive yard at the Lodge at Moosehead Lake. This is becoming a regular on cool Maine evenings and a great way to meet other guests, talk about the day and share experiences.
